Omega 1455 versus generic ETA 976.001

The relationship is a base-calibre and lineage reference, not a blanket drop-in guarantee. An Omega 1455 may include Omega-specific finishing, engraving, battery clamp, stem, dial attachment, movement holder or other variant-specific parts. Confirm the movement marking and compare the complete parts layout before substituting a generic ETA 976.001.

Omega calibre 1455 is distinct from Omega 1456, although both sit within the same ETA 976.001 family. Calibre 1456 is documented by Omega as a later rhodium-plated personalised version; the existing Gilded Hour Omega 1456 reference covers that variant.

Service and battery guidance

For battery replacement, confirm the cell designation, polarity, battery clamp and movement condition before fitting a new 321 / SR616SW-family cell. For complete movement replacement, compare the stem, hand heights, dial feet, case clamp and exact revision. A trained watchmaker should inspect the coil, circuit and setting train rather than assuming a flat movement is interchangeable because the dimensions look similar.
