Black Roman numerals give a crisp graphic edge to a white dial that changes quietly with the light. A circular mother of pearl centre brings a soft shimmer beneath the slender black hands, while the fine gold tone seconds hand draws the eye back to the polished bezel. The contrast is clean and deliberate, with just enough warmth to keep the face from feeling severe.

The round gold tone bezel sits within silver tone lugs that taper neatly into brown leather, giving this Seiko Exceline an easy balance of polish and texture. Its compact proportions work beautifully beside an ecru knit cuff, a white shirt or a softly tailored jacket.
