Flexible bracelet

Dark geometry defines this Seiko Galaxy. A smoked black centre is cut with fine radial lines that draw the eye towards three faceted markers, while a deep petrol toned chapter ring carries spare gold indices. The applied Galaxy crest, sharp gold hands and clipped rectangular case give the dial the look of a miniature piece of 1980s graphic design.

The bracelet is as important as the dial. Rows of tightly worked gold tone links create a scaled, almost woven surface that continues directly from the case. At 23.6mm wide, the watch has more presence than the smaller Galaxy while remaining refined. Worn alone it reads as a narrow cuff, and alongside gold jewellery it becomes part of the stack.
